What is it?

Marma therapy is a multidimensional modality with direct access into the physical, energetic and mental bodies (Annamaya, Pranamaya and Manomaya Koshas).

The Marmas (Ayurvedic pressure points) connect to the Nadis (subtle energy channels) and Chakras (energy centers), overseeing the link between the physical and subtle bodies (our energy, emotions, moods) as well as the exchange of energy and information between them.

Work with the Marmas removes blockages, improves the flow of Prana and can align with hidden energy reserves, restoring the proper connection between the subtle and physical body and re-connecting the individual with the greater potentials of life and nature, giving us increased vitality and health on all levels.

In Yoga and Ayurveda, Prana is the central spring of mental, energetic and physical health. All therapies in both these sciences work on Prana to stabalize, energize and harmonize its function.

Ayurveda recognizes Marma Chikitsa as the most immediate and direct therapy to achieve this purpose. Quickly and effectively it returns Prana to its natural state of free flowing movement and vibrant energy for the whole person.

I have personally seen and experienced miraculous results from this work, imbalances that have been there (sometimes for decades) are brought to light and easily dissipated, leaving the person feeling refreshed, vibrantly energized and relaxed into a calm, clear state of mind.

It is an important branch of Ayurveda, a sister science to Yoga and an immensely practical and effective modality for the era we are living in where few of us have the time or inclination for complex and drawn out therapies. As such, it is one of the most valuable natural healing systems available to us today.

Some benefits you can expect: 1. A deep sense of relaxation, peacefulness and total well being. 2. Clearing of toxins from the body, leaving you feeling lighter and energized. 3. Improved absorption and digestion of food. 4. Improved functioning of the body organs. 5. Healthier skin and a glowing look. 6. Improved cognitive function. 7. Deeper more restful sleep. 8. Inspires and increases creativity. 9. Balances your body’s temperature. 10. Increased immunity. 11. Opens and improves respiratory function allowing for deeper, more relaxed breathing. 12. Clearer, sharper senses. 13. Improves consciousness and awareness. 14. Improved emotional health, sometimes emotions that have been buried or stuck for years are opened and re-balanced leading to deep and important realizations for oneself. Marma opens and improves perception.
