Cupping is done with plastic cups placed on problematic areas of the body. The tissue is suctioned up into the cup providing a negative pressure away from the skeleton. This puts the muscle and fascia on a passive stretch releasing tension and breaking up adhesions. The suction promotes blood flow to the effected area, bringing with it oxygen and nutrients to aid in healing damaged tissue. Toxins and stagnant blood from past trauma will also be drawn to the surface allowing the lymphatic system to flush it out of the the body. Depending on each person there will be circles on treated areas for 1-21 days. Unlike massage the benefits last much longer and it can be repeated every 2-5 months where massage is recommended monthly. Aside from that, cupping shares all of the same health benefits of massage including: treating subacute and chronic pain, delayed onset muscle soreness (DOMS), anxiety, stress, soft tissue injuries, high blood pressure, insomnia etc. ♥️ Hope this helps ♥️
