SRM plaza closed

I'd have no qualms about visiting SRM as compared to any other MPA in the GTA. I know for a fact I wouldn't be frequenting at 4:00 am anyway. I'd like to apologize to SRM and Joy for jumping to conclusion in my previous post, I didn't know there was a nightclub in the same plaza.

Honestly, I've made numerous trips to SRM after midnight. There's no reason to think that mall isn't safe.

I've never seen groups of gang bangers out in the parking lot.

Sorry Joy and all,
I don't mean anything negative about SRM. I would feel totally safe once inside the premises; it's just these dark plazas at night that give me the creeps. But I'm very suggestible anyhow. I promise to make a late night visit soon.

SRM is safe...... I've been there plenty of times between midnight and 4 am. The most I've had to put up with was a drunk guy who wanted to talk while I was waiting in the lounge. Thankfully, 99% of the time if I am waiting and there's another guy waiting he's happy to just sit and stare at the TV.

once after a midnite session at srm there was a cop parked out front watching the place. i just hung around in the lounge until they left.

Same with me. I drove up at about 11:00 PM and saw a cruiser parked just east of the spa. I drove around for a few minutes and then approached from the west. Cruiser was still there. So - determined to get some fun - I parked on the north side of the plaza for 15 minutes, then scouted on foot. No cruiser. So I brought my car around to opposite SRM and parked.

As I got out, the cruiser booted up and drove right towards me out of the shadows. Nothing I could do. The cop called me over and gave me the 3rd degree about where I was going to. I stalled and tried to make up some crap, but there wasn't much of an alibi for being outside a spa at 11:30 PM. After a couple of seconds, the cop said he didn't care if I was going into the spa as it was "perfectly legal". Then he ran my licence and let me go.

The cop seemed polite and friendly, but it wrecked my mood for partying pretty much and I just went home.

Many MPs and SPs are located in locations that are intended to be a bit out of the way (and the rent isn't a killer).

Guess what? Many of these locations and surrounding areas can be become unsavoury---and dangerous---late at night. No surprise.
