Hah thanks. It’s ok. I understand why the family laws are the way they are. And historically women have received the short end of the stick. And we did have a lot of good times together so there’s that.

Blame could probably be shared on both sides. I am hoping that I learned from the mistakes from the past and apply it to the future though. Better communication. Set appropriate expectations and boundaries. Only making promises that we can both keep.

Should have learned this in a class in high school

I've never been married but man, seeing yours and some other folks' stories on here I'm somehow less and less inclined to get married as the years pass. Having meaningful human relationships is the most important thing... but marriage? Seems like a path towards losing half my assets at some point .

What is life without hope? After some reflection and subsequent introspection about the failed relationship and what is important to me, I feel that I can make a better decision next time. I guess history will tell, won’t it? Let’s hope I don’t repeat the same mistakes as the past.

Uuh I can’t say what I did last night.

As for the bucket list thing.. I guess it wasn’t 25 years ago. 2003, July. At the old Sheraton four points on the lakeshore by Sunnyside beach. The girl I was dating (this lovely 4’9” Laotian girl - Hmong I believe) and I were just chilling at the hotel after dinner. Her friends were coming over and bringing us some mj, and the plan was to have stoner sex with the gf. She was super experimental and her friends were older and divorced and definitely more liberated. The were in their 30s and we were in our late 20s. So the girls were slowly getting stoned and instead of the two friends leaving, they asked to stay and join. I mean they knew what we were up to. I could barely handle my gf at the time and no idea how adding two of her best friends to the mix would mess things up. I chickened out. The two friends went at each other in the room while I took my gf to the balcony and pounded her in full view of lakeshore traffic

When we went back in, the two friends were already asleep. Dammit, should have gone back in sooner. Haven’t had an organic opportunity like that since.
