12 Arrested in Massage Parlor Crackdown in Patchogue, Medford - Patch.com

Twelve people face felony charges and four businesses have been condemned following a police crackdown on massage parlors operating illegally in Medford and Patchogue.

In response to community complaints about suspected criminal activity, Fifth Precinct Crime Section officers targeted foot spas and massage parlors on Route 112, police said.

Plainclothes officers entered eight establishments between Jan. 4 and Jan. 13 and received massages from employees who were not properly licensed as massage therapists, police said.

• Relaxation and Health Spa, located at 585-8 Route 112, Patchogue
• Elim Spa, located at 382A Route 112, Patchogue
• Qugong Tui-na, located at 2080-06 Route 112, Medford

Beautiful Spa, Sunshine Spa, Candy Foot Spa and Qugong Tui-na were condemned by the Town of Brookhaven, police said.

The following people were arrested and charged with unauthorized practice of a profession, a Class E felony under New York State Education Law:

• Guishen Lu, 51, of 11960 Lower Azusa Road, El Monte, California
• Hong Liu 43, of 14740 Barclay Ave., Flushing
• Yinxue Zhang, 33, of 4172 Summit St., Flushing
• Boxuan Li, 27, of 4524 Bowne St., Flushing
• Quian Xia, 32, of 4181 Frame Place, Flushing (two counts)
• Yun Lin, 42, of 149-59 Colton St., Flushing
• Yueqin Song, 33, of 305 North Ocean Ave., Patchogue (two counts)
• Ping Li, 60, of 134-43 Maple Ave., Flushing
• Yue Fen Xia, 52, of 5744 Cloverdale Boulevard, Bayside (two counts)
• Suling Lin, 52, of 132-35 Sanford Boulevard, Flushing
• Shunhua Wu, 57, of 4170 Main St., Flushing
• Yin Jin 53, of 144 37th Ave., Flushing
