Seattle police arrested a 19-year-old man on Tuesday in connection with multiple armed robberies at massage parlors in the Chinatown-International District and Rainier Valley.
At approximately 4:30 a.m. on December 17, detectives from the Robbery Unit, with support from SWAT officers, served a search warrant at the suspect’s home in the 7200 block of 38th Avenue South.
The suspect was taken into custody without incident, and police recovered firearms and other evidence during the search.
The investigation tied the suspect to at least two violent robberies:
- On November 17, just before midnight, the suspect entered a massage parlor in the 600 block of Jackson Street. He demanded money from a 33-year-old employee, who complied. After receiving cash, he pistol-whipped the victim, shot her, and destroyed the video surveillance unit before running away.
- On December 2, around 10 p.m., the suspect entered another massage parlor in the 3700 block of Rainier Avenue South. He struck a 61-year-old employee with a gun, demanded money, and fired multiple rounds into the ceiling before leaving on foot.
Detectives are also investigating another unreported robbery that may involve the suspect.
The suspect was booked into King County Jail on investigation of robbery, assault, and unlawful possession of a firearm.
The Seattle Police Department Robbery Unit continues to investigate. Anyone with information about these or similar incidents is encouraged to call the SPD Violent Crimes Tip Line at (206) 233-5000.
