1st Time Trip

Just got back from my first tj trip. Me and my friend had a blast. We didn't hit up the traditional adelitas and all that, we decided to stay on revolution.. My friend got some action at Peanuts, a pretty looking mexican chica was a 9 w/ big breasts, slim body, and a nice ass (fs & bj $65). The second night we went to Pussycats and and both got a piece. There were some Nice looking girls there, they had rooms underneath and it costed $80, not bad but some of the girls were really pushy about us getting bjs or fs. And also THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOu, about the warning for bambi's. There were a group of guys who had some fun there and on the trolly ride back were discussing whether they were girls or not... I didn't have the heart to tell them.. Overall it was a very good trip, I appreciate all of the info everyone on the site had to offer

I've never had a problem in TJ either.
Only thing I might do differently is not take the ATM card.
There have been instances where the policia have taken mongers to ATM machines and threatened them with bodily harm and/or jail time if they don't make a withdrawal and pay them a bribe.
If you don't have the card, there's no chance of that happening.
Just my dos centavos.

I really appreciate all of the good info. From what I can gather it sounds similar to juarez. Its just a couple of days a way now and i'm ready to see what tijuana has to offer.

I have been to TJ and Adelita's numerous times alone, even at night. I have never had a problem on the walk. If you do the long walk, I do it for the exercise, when you get to Revolucion turn right and go down two blocks and turn left for another two blocks. I am 5'7" and just walk like I know what I am doing and where I am going, which are true. Sure, hustlers will approach but that is all over TJ. I smile at the cops and give them an "hola" and have never had a problem with them. Of course, never have pot, cocaine, etc on you and keep money in 2-3 different places. I bring Cali ID card, debit card and $40 together. The rest of my money is stashed in 1 or 2 other places. Good luck and have a blast. I am thinking of going this afternoon.

I personally have never had any problems with the police. Just don't cause any trouble on the street, take cabs, and be respectfull to the authorities. The clubs I recommended are safe. I was wandering around drunk off my ass and had no probs.

I also think the Zona itself is pretty safe. Most of the problem I hear about occur on Revolucion. Would most of the other members agree?

Thanks alot ftudjman. I was definetly not planning on driving in tj. I've frequented Juarez and I assume the traffic is the same, crazy and not worth the hassle. Do the police hassle you alot down there? I myself am hispanic and know limited spanish, but i will be traveling w/ a white guy who doesnt speak any. We have not run into any problems in juarez w/ the police.

Also stick to the Zona Roja places (Hong Kong, Chicago, Adeitas) and you'll be fine. Revolucion is kind of a rip off. Despite its appearances these clubs are totally safe and the bouncers there have always been very helpful. Just be polite and respectfull and they will treat you same.

But do avoid sketch Mexican dudes that approach you on the street. Espescially if their English is good - from what I read on the sight many of these dudes are deported fellons from US.

Don't drive in! There are secure parking places right on the border (take the lass US exit) and walk across. Parking is cheap - like $10 for the night and very secure. Then tak a cab to one of the places in the Zona.

Also Adelita's II is totally cool and worth a try. But you may want to hit up the Zona Roja first and then have a cab take you there. Cabs are pretty reasonable and I haven't had a problem with them yet.

Myself and a friend are planning on heading to san diego and making a stop at tj this weekend(26-29). I am looking for some tips, places to go do's and dont's. Any advice will be much appreciated.
