1-What I usually do in term of changing money is to use the ATM at the airport upon arrival.
2-cheap places to eat are plenty, especially those noodle shop. There's a great one next to Century Southern Tower hotel in shinjuku.
3-If you speak basic japanese, u r a lucky bastard

From what I've read, I should be able to take the train everywhere like to the airport and to my hostel, right?

1. I'm still not sure where the best places to exchange currency is located...
2. any suggestions on cheap places to eat or should I just stick to my original plan and just go there and find something cheap
3. I don't plan on paying for baiser. My plan is nampa in Shibuya/Shinjuku and hopefully I will get lucky. (alot ) I'm black and speak basic Japanese. (fluent in Korean which is similar)

Hi,
Japan is an expensive place. Food at any Mac joint would cost you nothing less than 15 USD.
Taxi's charge hell of a lot, train is the best choice if u r on a budget.

I might be in Tokyo (Shinjuku) and/or Kadena (Okinawa) for about 2-3 days in Dec., if the military flight I’m taking is delayed at Yokota Air base and/or Kadena air base. I have never been to Japan so I have outlined the possible details of both short stays thoroughly below. Please let me know what you think and list ANY suggestions, advice, ideas, or anything else that would be useful. Mahalo!!

Kadena
1. change currency to yen where? (transportation - use taxi or Yui rail ?)
2. Base Okinawa in Naha (accommodation)
3. food (local food about $10 a meal)
4. clubbing ( Golden Nightclub, Matsuyama, Hinotama Hall / massageplaneté Street in one of Heiwa Dori`s little alleys )
5. back to base airport (take a cab or Yui rail?)

Yokota
1. change currency to yen __ directions (transportation rail pass -> [ take the Narita Express to Tokyo (2900yen), then transfer to metro to Shinjuku (fair adjust for 200yen), finally buy unlimited one-day metro pass (750yen), walk to hostel ]
2. Shinjuku Kuyakusyomae Capsule Hotel in Shinjuku directions (accommodation)
3. food (same as above)
4. clubbing directions (Shibuya - Dogenzaka, Club Asia, Club Atom, Shibuya Nuts, Vuenos, WOMB, / Shinjuku - ? / Roppongi - 911, alife (before 11PM and ask for massageplanete&Disco. Entrance fee becomes ¥1000/2D) , Heartland, Mado Lounge, gas panic, wallstreet )
5. back to base airport or commercial airport directions (transportation -> take taxi or rail ?)
