Two women were arrested on suspicion of prostitution during undercover operations at two massage parlors in Fallbrook Friday, a sheriff’s official said.
“These were undercover operations to address a growing problem,” sheriff’s Sgt. Matthew Blumenthal said, adding that the goal also was to locate potential victims of sex trafficking.
Neither of the women arrested identified themselves as victims, and both were uncooperative with investigators, Blumenthal said.
A 61-year-old woman was taken into custody at Jasmine Massage on South Main Avenue, while a 48-year-old woman was arrested at Coco Massage on South Mission Road. Both women were employed as masseuses.
During the operations, detectives seized an undisclosed amount of cash from the businesses — alleged profits from the suspected prostitution at the parlors, Blumenthal said.
The operation included detectives from the San Diego Sheriff’s Department licensing unit and Fallbrook substation, the San Diego Human Trafficking Task Force and the U.S. Naval Criminal Investigative Service.
On Yelp, Coco Massage has eight reviews and a four-star rating. Jasmine Massage doesn’t have any reviews or ratings.
