MARQUETTE, Mich. (WLUC) - People learned different ways to promote their well-being at the 2nd annual Marquette Holistic Health Fair on Saturday. Over 60 vendors packed NMU’s Northern Center to share health alternatives with visitors.
Guests could get a massage or have an oracle reading. They could also find herbal teas, natural soaps and lotions, and jewelry. Event coordinator Michelle Nichols says holistic medicine and practices can be paired with traditional Western medicine.
“I had an issue with my foot,” Nichols said. “I got some myofascial release and as well as went to the doctor and got some meds to take care of it. So, they can play together really nicely.”
Nichols says there’s a lot of stress in our lives, and the holistic approach can help with that through nature, music, and massage. She’s happy that the turnout this year was larger than last year.
