50/50 chair split

i know this belongs in the chair forum, but i'm asking here as well. does anyone do any chair massage working for someone else? i'm asking because i spoke with someone about doing chair massage in a resort shop.- the guy wants to do a 50/50 split. generally, it's a $per min and the max you can do is 20 min right?well he didn't offer any pay range for when i have to stand there and wait for the next client. i have a chair and an outgoing personality, i can go out and find my own clients before i throw myself into somthing that will be a waste of time. i don't do this for the money- (gee wonder why i am poor lol) but i am so tired of people A) trying to get free massages and B) making us work for peanuts.

I'm not sure I understand what the situation is.  What kind of shop is it?  A souvenir shop?  This person wants you to come and do chair massage and charge the customers and he gets 50%?  You would make nothing!  And chair massage is a lot of hard work!  When I do chair massage for someone else I am paid by the hour.  If nobody gets in the chair, I'm still being paid.  If they want me there for a certain amount of time, they pay for it, regardless of how many people hop in the chair.

I was doing chair massage for a "Curves" like workout place.  In the beginning I offered them a small perceneforum.xxxe per client (can't remember how much) since I would be working on the members they spent money to get.  I was not busy at all.  After a few times the one owner came to me and said they wanted a 50% split.  I told them that if that was the setup they wanted then I was not interested.  I supplied everything, including the flyers and they wanted 50%!  Between that and other mix-ups on their part, I was glad that I got out of there.The other two chair massage jobs that I have, I don't give anything to anyone.  100% goes to me.  They do the scheduling (each client comes at a set time) and I come supplied and do the work.Also, I charge $15 for 10mins, $20 for 15mins and $25 for 20mins.  Times change (gas prices, face cover costs ect) and the $1 rate minute doesn't cover you for travel or supplies.    I would not agree to this set-up.  Sounds like he is just out to make money off of your hard work.What would you get out of working in this shop?  What would the person at the shop be providing for you?   You would basically be available for whomever wants a massage during the length of time you were at the shop?Will you be charging the client for the massage or will the owner of the business be paying you?

I would approach other shops in the area (you must think it's a good area) Tell them of the benefits for them -- you keep a spouse in the chair while the other one shops, your client-their customer has a plesant experience in their shop.They get an attraction for free. (You can tell him what your hourly rate is-perhaps he'll hire you to destress his workers.
