Eight women are sitting in the Lee County Jail tonight after getting busted in a massage parlor prostitution operation.

The women face a number of charges from solicitation of prostitution to unlicensed massage therapy. All eight women were arrested at eight different massage parlors down US-41.

Businesses in the area wouldn't talk to NBC2 on camera, but tell us they've seen women of all ages being forced into or transported to and from these parlors.

"That breaks my heart," said Lee County resident Norma Grubb.

"I don't want to be walking around the places alone. Especially knowing that this is happening, who knows what could happen to me," said Anastasia Cubas.

Eight different massage parlors and eight different women all now face charges for soliciting prostitution or offering massage therapy without a license.

"This kind of crap going on, it's scary," said Grubb.

"When you walk in, the vibe you get in there, it's not comfortable. Like you feel like there's something going on," said Cubas.

Nearby businesses to the parlors say the shops had dozens of men and women in and out daily.

The Lee County Sheriff's Office says after getting so many reports of possible prostitution going on, deputies raided the shops.

"The guys are going there with total knowledge of what they're doing. Total knowledge," said Grubb.

NBC2 confronted parlor staff in shops open on Wednesday night about the arrests, but no one answered our questions.

"If it was done voluntarily, I hope something can be done to help them. That's not something any woman should ever have to go through, and if it's involuntarily that needs to be taken care of as soon as possible," said Cubas.

Not all of the eight women are facing prostitution charges. Some of them only have to pay a $750 bond.

6. Jia, Liu W/F DOB 11-11-97 “East Asian Massage” 17660 S. Tamiami Trail

7. Yang, Khengjuan W/F DOB 03-31-67 “Sunset Therapy Spa” 21740 S. Tamiami Trail

8. Wu, Qiu Mei W/F DOB 01-06-69 "Elite Massage" 17200 S. Tamiami Trail #8
