A few drinks in TJ?

That is pretty standard. In Charlies, I think the client drinks are cheaper but the ladies drinks the same. Many of the ladies on weekends are not bar girls, but factory chicas and you would not have to pay $7 per drink for them.

Now in Las Chavelas you don't pay $1 for dance if the chica is drinking the drink you paid. Now in Charley's(I think this is actually how they spell it) if you are drinking regular drinks with a lady, you still pay $1 per dance.

How do you compare Charlies Bar to Chavelas or Tropical bars? The same type of people. In Chavelas the drinks cost 3 dollars for you and 7 dollars for the ladies. It is also $1 per dance. probably I went to the wrong bars.

On a Friday or Saturday evening(preferably Saturday) try Bar Charley's or Charlies Bar on Diaz Ordaz. You can dance with the girls for $1 per dance, and the prices are nice for drinks. Haven't been in 5 years, but I hear it is the same. It is probably $8 to $10 taxi drive (libre). Plenty of taxis outside when you want to return. Friendly people and lots of civilian women mixed in with a few bar chicas.

Seriously if you are from the US, stay in the tourist areas, maybe pay a little more, you'll be a hellivalot safer and live to tell of your adventure. You will be seen as a tourist anywhere you go, from the differnece in your clothes, hair cut, language..you are a tourist, it's not a bad thing.

Where in TJ can a couple of guys go for a few drinks and kick-back and perhaps enjoy the company of the local lasses without paying over-inflated prices or any solicitation from the working girls, unless, of course, you should make the first advance.
Oh yeah, and away from the main tourist drag because I know for a fact that those places are out to rip off any gullible tourist who strays into their establishment.
You guys know what I'm getting at here? Just a friendly drinking cantina (perhaps where the locals hang-out) where you can relax for a bit, drink, dance with some chickas without any pressure for anything but a few relaxing moments?
