a good book

Im a recent graduate putting my skills to work in a salon for now, Ive been looking and yet to find a book that involves injuries/muscle pain and the application for treating it. There was a student in my class that had something similar but I cant find it or the student. Has anyone seen or know of any that may help me in my search??Thanks in advance, Mike

I have 4 out of 5 of the books Breathe posted. If I had to choose one, I would choose Clinical Massage Thereapy by Rattray and Ludwig. It has tests AND treatment plans.

Two books I recommend are very large and involved.  They are Travell & Simmons' Myofascial Pain and Dysfunction - The Trigger Point Manual.  They are red books with gold lettering and they come in two volumes. One for the upper half the other for the lower half.  To give you an idea of what's inside, Vol. 1 has an introduction including glossary and general overview of pain and applied therapy.  Then the rest of the book is broken into parts, Head/neck pain, upper back/shoulder/arm pain, forearm/hand pain and finally torso pain.  Then within those caeforum.xxxories are the specific muscles that are effected (O,I,A)there pain referral patterns and how to manipulate them.  It reads like a text, but it's extremely informative. Together they're about $200, but I got them on amazon for $140.  I do a lot of therapy for pain, so this book has been a lifesaver for me.  However, if you weren't thinking about something this detailed then never mind my suggestion

Check out Ben Benjamin's book "Listen to Your Pain".  Great for helping assess injury and giving some treatment options.
