A & R Massage - Beware

I arrived at A & R Massage on Dundas Monday night just after a "white" female attendent was attacked and strangled by 3 black men trying to rob the place while the owner was having a nap in a room. The attendent was left bruised and traumatized.

When the attendent asked to call the police the owner refused and when the attendent pushed because of the security camera, the owner claimed it was for show only. Sorry for your luck.


I don't think this is a very safe place to go from now on.

It seems to me that a spa would be prime for a hold-up:

cash business
open late

so far, like a gas station or convenience store but add:

discrete location and
clientele that are unlikely to appear as witnesses or even report the crime.

This places customers and staff at risk esp late at night.

I think I will restrict my visits to daytime and places that lock the door behind me. In fact, maybe I WANT a male receptionist.

I wonder if robberies happen much more often than we see reported in the papers or on the web.

I could see a robbery late at night but this was only 10:00 p.m. when I arrived. The owner is male and obviously cares more about himself then he does the ladies that he employs.

Anglelo, the owner of A and R is too old to stand up to 3 young black guys anyway. A and R is on the right side of the tracks, but right beside the tracks. Soon as you go north of the CPR tracks, the neighbourhood starts to go for a dump.

I used to go to A and R quite a bit, but they are closed more than they are open, and Angelo has a habit of closing the doors for like 3 months at a time, and fighting with the land lords.

I was there once when the land lord turned off the gas.

Angelo should have called the cops, I am very surprised that he didn't actually. The girl in question should just say fuck you Angelo and go to the cops herself.

He told me he was Greek and 70 something. Sells real estate part time (never seen any of his signs)

He smokes like a chimney, of that I am certain, and it's part of the reason i haven't been there very much lately.

He seems like a nice guy whenever I would go there yes.

He has had some really great girls working for him over the years though.

I like old Angelo per se, but angel is correct about what she is saying.

I have noticed that he can never retain staff and closes for months at a time (with the excuse of going on holidays)

Who knows. But the place is clean.
