Adequate training?

Acollege close by is offering a certified Reflexolgy course for £160 over 10 wks - 20 hours to obtain HN Unit. Can anyone explain if this is simply an introductory unit and if so how much training I would need as a follow up?

I'm not 100% sure but I am doing a reflexology course through my local college - It is over 30 weeks and amounts to 60 hours (I believe it is actually a 90 hour course crammed into 60!). Supposedly we can obtain insurance to practise after this course but the tutor is quite vague about this - in my mind it is a good introduction and if I want to take it further at a later stage at least I have a headstart.

When this is completed we have 1 HN unit. This makes me think thatwhat you are looking atmight be an introductory course.

I don't want to put you off training to be a Reflexologist but in my opinion this is nowhere near long enough. Does this include Anatomy and Physiology training. I trained for a year (academic year) and I still don't think this was long enough either although I think most courses are about 30-35 weeks. I could write loads on this subject but I won't waffle on but what ever course you do the most important thing is,,,,,,make sure you have a good tutor.

Aha, maybe I should clarify - in order to do my reflexology course at the collegeI had to have A & P - did the VTCT one which took nearly a year.

I do think however that this is like most training - you do a course and learn the technique and the basics but it is only once you are actually working that you build on your understanding etc. As said above when you go back and look at previous treatments you start seeing things and understanding - I think they can only teach you so much (give you the tools) and then you have to take that and realy learn.

I apologise, my last post was in reply to solas as I didn't think that course would be long enough.

Sounds like you are doing a similar lenght course tothe one I did.
