Advice needed for treating a client with Psoriasis

Can anyone advise on suitable oils to use on a client with psoriasis of the scalp?

She came to me today, at a workplace pamper event, and she asked me to give her adry massage. I'm curious as to what oils would be beneficial and I can't find anything in any of my text books. Does anyone have any 'tried and tested'traditional blends for psoriasis?

Hi I suffer with psoriasis on my scalp from time to time and use jojoba oil on it. It seems to help with the dryness. x

i am doing IHM at the momment and we have been advised to use Cocnut oil with clients who suffer from psoriasis.

Its excellant to moisturise the skin and relieves inflammation. I would probably use this oil. But be careful if your client has a nut allergie!! You could also try evening primrose which is another good oil for dry scalp and nourishing.

Hi yes coconut oil does relieve inflammation but it can also irritate sensitive skin.

I thought I'd check through my books again andit does say that jojoba is excellent for acne, eczema, psoriasis and arthritis. It contains vitamin E too which is great for the skin. I would use this rather than coconut oil. I use jojoba oil on alot of my clients mixed with another carrier oil as it can be expensive.
