Hi Guys
I'm 6 weeks post op and have today been discharged by my surgeon!!!! He has told me I can go back to all exercise building up gradually of course but am free to do anything! Two conditions, no heavy lifting for another 3 months and no high impact classes.
As a Fitness Instructor this is the best news I could have had and was close to tears when he said I can return to teaching.
I have no sciatica but do have a small amount of pain in lower back. He assured me this was perfectly normal as I have 2 spinal nerves at my op site and these will take a bit longer to heal. (most people only have 1!!)
Anyone who is still suffering with awful sciatica, disc problems etc, my thoughts are with you. There is no worse pain in the world. Dont let the NHS fob you off, keep pushing for help.
I know the surgery is not for everyone and is not a quick recovery but is is worth giving every consideration to.
All the best of luck to those who are due for surgery, keep positive and do as you are told!! I look forward to reading all about them. I intend to still be on this forum regularly.
All the best for now
Take care
