Aftercare advice for sports massage

Hi sports experts,

What type of advice would I need to include in the aftercare sheet?
I have listed all the general massage advice, what specific advice should I put, are there any web links?

Hi Sarahlouise,

I am not a sports therapist but can say from receiving sports massage that my therapist told me (was a shoulder pain, coming from the pectoralis minor) to put shower on to jet or power mode and have it warm. He also gave me some exercises to do inbetween treatments which helped me immensely and thankfully I am sorted now.

Specific after care advise would really depend on what you were treating them for, but as a genral - basic stretches to losen tight muscles, strenghtening exercises for weak muscles (maybe you need to refer to fitness instructor or pilates instructor for this) heat or ice if appropriate, rest from an activity that may be agrevating their condition, postural correction exercises. Little and often for all the above. Hope that helps? : )
