Matthew Lau: Ontario's default position is now government control
While most of the world is moving quickly out of the pandemic, Ontario will be under the government's emergency powers until December

I thought this was an interesting read as it really highlighted just how much of an outlier Ontario's restrictions have been throughout this pandemic compared to the rest of the world. It's extremity and absurdity under the mask of "protecting people" is one of a kind.
Despite all of this you still have people saying "Well if ppl just followed the guidelines properly we wouldn't need to lockdown again and again".
There obviously has to be a balance between the threat and what is a reasonable response. Would the world benefit in reduced deaths if 30Km/hr speed limits were imposed for all roads and highways? Ofcourse. But the damage it would cause economically far outweights the otherwise noble cause of saving lives. Something's gotta give in all aspects of life, it's about a balanced and reasonable response, and Ontario's response to this Pandemic was anything but.
