I think this is a great idea. It gets your business out in the open so people can see. Ebay and half.com have millions, if not more, viewers everyday. I have had people buy my stuff that live in my own town. It can't hurt to try, you might be surprised at what comes from it.jenny

Yes, actually think that the auction could be a better way to go than simply offering "half off" introductory prices. Clever way to "get them in the door"!I'd been thinking about it, but hadn't the foggiest where to list, or how that could work out. Looks like an interesting possibility to explore..and as long as the link is alive, you can see the proper category.*lol* she might already be a Member? Thank you.My hope (by showing my listing on your site) is that it helps other Licensed massage therapists reach more potential clients, because massage therapy is so needed right now by so many...  Of course, it would be great if members who are planning to list their own ads could design them in ways that highlight their own unique approach to massage therapy, in an original format.  I have a background in advertising and marketing and know that what makes an ad work (regardless of the chosen media) is its quality to communicate concise information in a unique manner. *lol* It would be great to have feedback concerning the shortcomings of this approach, as a balance. I've been considering the idea since moving to an area where exposure is limited for work in our field...meaning you have to be very creative to get the word out.

So I've long been watching the ebay message boards for clues concerning the correct category for listing. I believed it would be something like "Services". It was very helpful to see which categories could, and now do carry ads for Massage Therapy.

And on the point of creativity, Suzanne is giving right on advice. Each ad should be personalized and express our own particular strengths and beliefs. I think everyone here, considering this option, means to do that. Ethics and professionalism go hand in hand.
