Another holiday question

I was thinking of sending out a pre-holiday postcard about 50 days before Christmas. It was say something along the lines that Christmas is on its way and I can help make your gift giving easy... just call for confidental delivery of GC.

Anyone do that in the past with success? First, I like to prevent those ppl who call me Christmas Eve for certificates. :roll: Especially since this year I might be out of town!

I haven't yet done anything like that, but it sounds like a GREAT idea

I sell GCs both in the office or through SpaBoom, so of course the online option will remain up & running straight through the holidays, but as far as in-office GCs go, I will probably run a small in-office GC special (save $5 or something) through Oct-Nov (?) to help nudge ppl to think ahead

I'm curious to see what others are considering

I have done the postcards before the holidays, they seemed to work well. So does having an open house close to Christmas. Have snacks, & be open only for GC sales (and LOTS of questions!) There is a florist 3 doors down from me, and she has one every year. I try to coordinate mine with hers, as she has ALOT of traffic!

I am going to stick with sending postcards out very early. I like the idea of an open house too.

the open house works for me, but the postcards that you mentioned in the first post didn't work for me.

i definately think that sending them out early is best. of course everyone says "but not too early"... i think 50 days is great. we're launching our holiday promos on 9/10.

I did postcards in the past, once when I moved and for Xmas. Seemed to work well. I am in the process of tweaking the postcard today.
I think I am going to mail them early to mid November BEFORE they hit the after Thanksgiving sales for their Xmas gifts.
Fot my Xmas promo I usually do book/buy 1 hour relaxation massage and receive 15 min hot stone massage (75 min session altogether). Same special for GC's.

I want new Xmas specials this year and for whatever reason I am really struggling wiht it. I can always promote my hot stone special "back by popular demand" but I really want something new. I don't like giving %%% off.

I sell GC's online and I either mail them or email (NOT thru Spa Boom, I have Print Shop and create my own GC, which takes about 1 minute.
I buy postcards from Information for People and they are cute and colorful. Another company I thought of this year was E-Sharper.
