COMMON BAWDY HOUSE CHARGES LAID AT MARKHAM
MASSAGE PARLOUR

The York Regional Police Drugs and Vice Enforcement Bureau has charged five people after an
investigation revealed a massage parlour was operating as a common bawdy house in the Town of
Markham.
On Thursday February 15, 2007, as part of the ongoing commitment to eliminate illegal body rub
parlours in York Region, members of the York Regional Police Drugs and Vice Enforcement Bureau
executed a search warrant at Paradise Health Centre located at 7170 Warden Ave. in Markham.
Between January and February, 2007, York Regional Police Drugs and Vice Enforcement Bureau
officers conducted an investigation into the activities occurring at the parlour. The investigation
revealed that sexual acts were being performed in exchange for money inside the premises on a
continuous basis under the guise of a massage parlour.
Though this location is a licensed massage parlour in the Town of Markham, they are only licensed to
provide massages not sexual services.

York Regional Police will continue to vigorously investigate complaints of sexual services or
prostitution being provided or taking place in both commercial and residential locations. This type of
illegal activity will not be tolerated.

I feel empathy for the Domenic guy. The place has a license posted near the entrance. He might have thought he was safe from this sort of thing. All the cops are doing is driving this underground where women will be operating out of their homes and their safety will be an issue. We should have official red light districts.

What really pisses me off is that I drive by this place very often on my way to and from work, and have always ignored it due to poor (albiet very few) reviews found on this site.

On the bright side, no one can try and lay the blame for this one on the major review boards.
