any book recommendations?

Hello everyone,

I am currently looking for a not-to-thick practitioner level book which gives point suggestions for western diseases (for example back pain, headaches, common flue) and also listsAcupuncture point combinations.

Any suggestions?

There aren't acupoints for specific western conditions. The points you choose depends on your TCM diagnosis.

Peter Deadman's A Manual of Acupuncture probably comes closest to what you're after, but it's far from not-too-thick!!!

and thank you for your reply. Be it Deadman's "Manual of Acupuncture", Beijing's "Acupuncture and Moxibation" orEllis & Wiseman's "Fundamentals of Chinese Acupuncture" - they all list western symptoms/diseases with their Acupuncture points. Be it abdominal pain, shoulder pain, headaches, common cold, flue, insomnia...they all do! I am looking for a pocket size book with these listings...

Sorry - I may have misunderstood. Symptoms aren't western or eastern. They are just what someone experiences. It is our diagnosis of why that happens that leads us to our point selecetion, no?
In your post above you referred to "western diseases" and I made the presumption you meant western medical labels for collections of signs and symptoms. e.g. there are no specific acupoints for diabetes. It depends on the TCM diagnosis.

As for the book you're after, I can't think of anything pocket sized. Perhaps a gap in the market for you!!
