...editing anything its for 8thgrade.? It is about this quote "the real voyage of discovery seeks in not in seeking new land scapes but in having new eyes"
The story is written by Blake Freeman for any of my teachers might run this threw a scanner.
My parents have always nagged me to go to school and try my hardest and I am sure they have done the same to you. So I used to do what almost every other kid does and goes to school reluctantly and did the bare minimum. But one day I woke up. Fortunately for me it was before it was too late and I was just an average guy working two or more deadbeat jobs that pay me barely enough combined to make ends meet. My parents weren’t nagging me for their health but to try and put me on the track to success that every kid so reluctantly refuses to take.
It all started on a long ride to a stomach doctor. As I looked out the window and saw Hazlet a nice town I saw average people dressed clean normal houses and standard cars. I thought “This is so boring in fact the only thing here to do it seems is to talk to people and watch television.†But it got even worse then as the car drove though the ghetto I saw houses so unkempt that the paint the chipping the windows were broken and houses where so small I would have to assume it was for a mouse. Everyone there was either grotesquely skinny from lack of food or so overweight even there clearly at least XXXL shirt with stains and rips because all they could afford was the dollar menu at the fast food places like Mc Donald’s. Then just as quickly as it turned from average to the slums it turns completely around into a fanasy land. The men there where all dressed in the finest of threads either Brooks brother’s polo’s or thousands of dollars Armani suits. There was porches and Audi everywhere and most of the people that lived there couldn’t pick just one car so own a hole fleet of BMWs, Porsches, Audis and Mercedes. And every once and a while you were able to see one of their houses that wasn’t hidden by trees and mile long driveways so long you could build a hole street on just the driveway alone. There houses where thousands of feet and not one thing was not perfect about the houses clearly hand carved stone work, doors over 10ft high, and huge pools. I quickly caught on my grades will dictate which one of those places will be spending my adult years in and I don’t have to have a extremely wealthy bring up I just had to have new eyes.
You know what you get when you’re an average student? You get the average salary of an average person in America and that is only $24,325 dollars which breaks down to $506.77 a week. Now after I looked at that and took into account that a house payment is about $171 a week on average and the average car payment of $94.50 a week that only leaves 265.50 a week for bills, food and other things you might want like collage for your son or daughter!
Now if I work hard get a 3.8 GPA or higher and go to college. My future salary will most probably be greater than $200,000.00 with some such as surgeons makes on average $250,200 or a lawyer with a eight percent chance to be greater than $300,000.000! Now even if I was just an average 3.8 GPA guy who went to college and made a whopping $250,200.00 a year I would have $5,250.00 EVERY WEEK!
The real voyage of discovery seeks in not seeking new landscapes but in having new eyes. Everything I need to succeed has been right in front of me this whole time school it may be a pain but nothing worth having comes easy and a few years of trying hard and excelling in school will pay off big time and allow me to make the big bucks and have the easy life later on. I know now that if I rise to the challenge of school work instead of just accepting failure the whole world is in my hands because knowledge is power and power is money.
