Any Live Music Christmas Day?

Love checking out all your stories, keep up the good work.

I will be in Phuket on Dec 25th and wondered if anyone knows of any half decent live music on that night?
Anywhere in Phuket will do. Have wide variety of tastes. But mainly in western music I have to admit.

I know of the Irish pub on the beach road and read somewhere that there is a Saxophone pub like the one in Bangkok. Anyone know if there is anything going on in these places?

ROCK CITY 2 corner of soi sansabai at top of bangla road 3 great live bands 9.30pm till 4am

saxaphone and rock city on beach road have both closed, so rock city on ratty, san sabai, and margarita sound like the 2 most popular for "western" style music in patong at the moment.

Kamala around 6pm on there will be a Christmas Carol concert conducted by Dodger singing baritone and Denver squeaking in the background.

Nelson will be banging his own drum and the Loop will probably be too p1ssed to join in.

Margarita is at top of Bangla, facing right away from the Beach road.

Not a huge fan of live bands in Patong myself, but we usually tend to end up in that Irish Pub on Christmas eve at one point or another. Always great fun. Dunno, something about Thai girls doing their own unique version of Riverdance with a santa hat that I find rather sexy...

[And with regards to the Pogues thread, “Fairytale of New York” will be requested over and over. “Happy x-mas your **** I pray God it’s our last”. Classic. Not (that) a bad female singer right now, but the bands playing there in previous years tended to be better IMO.]

Happy new year to one and all.
Trip report of a different kind. Me and the other half went to Patong looking for live music, amongst other things. What we found was:

Irish Times - decent enough sing along kind of music with a few Christmas songs thrown in. Not really what we were looking for but the Irish/British fellow was pretty good at what he was doing.

Absolute (correct?) pub just along from the Irish Times. Pretty dull cover versions of MOR rock classics by Thai group.

Margarita - standard cover versions of rock/pop standards by huge Thai group with 2 female singers and 5 muscians. Again ok, but nothing to get you jumping up and down.

Rock City - just as we were giving up we went in here and had a great time. Great atmosphere, the Thai group (School of Rock) were full of energy, decent muscians and good singer who was very good at playing the crowd.
The waitresses dressed in skimpy nurses uniforms carrying 'syringes' of vodka and red bull didn't do any harm either:
