Not that serious to lose the job. The insurance provider will reject your claim and your HR Dept will know that you visited an illegal practitioner for a service. Below is a list (only part of it) published by the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario.

RMTs who do are foolish women. Risk is involved plus it violates there standard of practice. Is it worth the extra 50 bucks? That's there with pimping out your RMT number. CMTO has a price guide for charges. 1st visit is 140 and 95/he not including tax. Why mess with that. Who jumps into low key sex work if they don't have to?

Is it possible to ask the insurance company which places are honored for massage therapy and slowly cross each one off the list 1 by 1 till you find the one

Yes, the website of Sunlife has a tool to find out the names and addresses of recognised RMTs in your neigbourhood.

Bearing in mind, not all the RMTs are accepted by certain insurance companies. For example , receipts issued by XR-Wellnesss in Unionville are rejected by Sunlife but accepted by certain insurance companies. You have to ask the massage providers to make sure their receipts are acceptable by your insurance company.

Why? ....
Legit RMT's spend 100's of hours studying to get that license,
100's more practicing to became a license RMT.
they pay 100's of $ annually to stay as active practitioners
RMTs make in the vicinity of $80,000 per year, why would they risk losing their license that took blood sweat and tears to obtain for your extra $40, $60, $80?
Yeah, yeah, you would get RMT like ladies who would give you HJ and even more, but trust me when I say They are not License RMTs.

Some RMTs provide their license number to MPs to issue receipts, those are the one that have been black listed by the insurance companies and many have their practices under review by the college of Massage Therapy, but they personally don't provide services.

The best you can get is an RMT like massage, by someone who is a provider as well.

Yeah, I know there are many fabulas and stories in websites of "My RMT gave me (______)" - fill in the blank BJ, HJ. FS, DFK etc. but they are shilling, bull shit or dilucional stories made up by BS artist (not body slide LOL)

Some guys think their RMT got horny thus gave ______ - again fill in the blank, However, think about it, if you eat burgers everyday for breakfast, lunch and dinner; how long before you can't stand to see another burger?

Semilegits offering receipts are using pimped RMT numbers. The stupid thing is that RMTs who pimp their registration numbers risk getting caught. The CMTO can send a rep anytime to a RMT to check their documentation. That includes treatment notes, patient info and schedule of treatment. The spas don't care just get another number. But insurance companies know what's going on

I don't think they care much about getting caught because they bought those RMT numbers quite cheap a few yrs back and they have already made enough money out of them by charging $25 to 35 for each receipt.. You can buy RMT licenses for just a few thousand dollars about 9-10 yrs ago. I do know quite a few RMT license holders who can''t read or write nor speak decent English. They even issue receipts for full service spas and I know of one running a full service spa .

I assure you sir the game has changed DRASTICALLY over the last 5 years. The exams are more difficult and worse those caught giving out help and answers are being pursued hard. They black list those caught issuing fake receipts on the CMTO website so now you catch it on both sides.

It is true there are some with RMT licenses running holistic spots and essentially financing sexwork via insurance companies. However it's now a matter of when you get caught simply because there's always ONE dummy messes the whole thing up.
