Anyone ever successful quit this hobby, and still visit massageplanet.net ?

I am reaching my 10th anniversary into the hobby of visiting MPs. Through the years, I have tried to quit. Sure, I went 6 months without visiting a SC or MP. I actually thought I was free and clear. Ya right!! I figure this hobby costs me about $5000 a year.

But, I don't think it's possible to quit and go back to my pre-MPs days. Why? I like massageplanet.net and the MPs too much. Help.

For me, massageplanet.net is the Ultimate gateway drug into this "hobby".

I have yet to go more than two months w/o hobbying with the exception of the time I had no home inernet access and could not view massageplanet.net. I was off for 8 months no problem.

If you want to stop, at least stay away from the advertisers forums, and only read the bad reviews

Good for you. I have only been out for 2 months, but finding it hard to give up massageplanet.net so far. Met so many wonderful women here, it's hard to say toodle loo. Oh well. Maybe it's an SM thing for me, wishing I could go on. Don't know. But many ladies here are great to talk to.

I say why quit, enjoy yourself but keep it in moderation. Don't let it control your life. If you keep it to once a month you are under 2000 bucks. Now come on aren't you worth 2000 bucks, think how much your SO spends on clothes and make up, nothing wrong with you blowing a couple of G's. That's it, done shilling for the mp's.

PS. On a personal note I could never quit cause my little head dominates my bigger head!

For many of us, I'm not sure that you can say that you truly quit. Having said that my current "sabbatical" is over a year now. Don't really miss it that much - And I used to go weekly.

My current retirement is 5 months..... away from a parlour but still reading regularly. I do like the chatting aspects and find that for some reason it helps me to discuss the topic I think mainly because in my other avenues/areas of my life I can't discuss hobbying and my past. I find the real trick is to find things to occupy your time and money. So for me I do some volunteering, taking a course, fixing things around the house, pursuing non sexual hobbies, obviously dating is important for the companionship/sexual outlets.

I think the last real useful thing that I got out of massageplanet.net was the recommendation of puretna.com as a porn torrent. Oh yeah some porn helps kill the demons from time to time when the SO is not in the mood.

I guess the biggest relief is to see that things are pretty much status quo on the MP scene and I don't feel like I'm missing out. Lord help anyone who was trying to quit in the hey day of the MP scene (say when HFH and IT were both in full swing and guys were raving about certain girls).

I was flattered that a MPA told me that knowing that I quit for the last while for a girl gave her hope in men. Mind you she knew I was a once or twice a week kinda guy in my prime.

I havent had one since about xmas..

The good massages ($40 chinese) are too intense I can't handle them for some reason the constant strong massaging and technique makes my heart race.. being on edge makes it hard to enjoy the massage

And the hot masssages (high $$ NR etc) have just been soo blahhhh lately and so non-intimate that I don't enjoy myself and feel ripped off after..

Sooo.. I havent been to a massage in about 10 months...

I have been in the MP game for about 4 years. I have never tried an SP, and I think that if I did, I would become addicted. I have honed in on two or three incall MPA independents that I like, and have stuck with them for about three times a year.

I guess for me, it is almost impossible to completely quit the hobby. I like to only go 3-4 times a year to keep things exciting and cheap.

Otherwise, I check out redtube once a day!

Rayden, I gotta disagree with you - respectfully. I am worth more than $2000, which is what my SO will get if I get busted or caught going to a MP. But, I also think about what I could do with $2000 over 10 years, a total of $20,000. I would likely get a hair replacement surgery (not now, in the future), an old convertible, and faKe boobs for the SO.

Sleepy, definitely things to aspire to. I guess the bigger question, though, is whether you would actually get those things. From those who have answered this thread and similar ones, the response is usually "I replace hobbying with ..." And this is similar to any addicition - eating, boozing it up, etc. You find something else to take your mind off of your addiction. The only problem is that either you end up spending the money you would have spent on hobbying on your new passtime or else by the time you save up the money for those things something else comes along (new roof for house, new appliances, etc.) that you end up spending the money on instead.

I do agree, though, about the value of not being caught.

For me, the best thing about hobbying is massageplanet.net. It is the best for its obvious benefits, but it's also the best for curtailing my hobbying. I have windows of opportunity that arise fairly frequently. There are so many good looking women in a fair number of places across the GTA that I often end up going to toronto-exotic-massage.com and then checking out the web sites and seeing who is on schedule. I then create a "short list" for that day and then go onto massageplanet.net to check out the latest reviews on them. The problem (benefit) is that I usually spend so much time doing the research that by the time I finally get it together to head out, my window of opportunity is gone (or I won't have enough time to get out there, have the massage, and then go to whatever I have scheduled afterwards) so I end up just spinning my wheels. I'm like the kid at the mega-candy store who can't decide until I'm finally told "all right that's enough, if you can't decide then too bad, we're leaving." If I were more efficient, I'd keep a list but then with my luck the SO or boss would find it. The end result is that by having massageplanet.net and suffering from too many choices and "information overload", I end up curtailing my hobbying to once or twice a month and those times usually fall in the "I have to go to X for work and there's place Y nearby, so I've got to go there and there's limited choice." I guess, conceivably, if my boss sends me to places with no nearby MPA or doesn't send me anywhere, I'll end up effectively quitting (at least until my SO takes a trip without me) and still be looking at massageplanet.net. Like Scoob said, massageplanet.net is the gateway to this addiction, but for me it's a bit of a closed gateway.

Nor does it mean that if you stop browsing massageplanet.net, you will give up the hobby.

I've quit for over 2 years now. Still here for the entertainment and realization the sex industry will always remain interesting knowing what I know.

Occasional urges to do it again, but reflecting on thinking about it afterwards, the urge dies. I guess it's like the cliche come to life: hindsight is 2020.
