Anyone in Spokane, WA?
The market will be whatever you make of it! If I'd listened to anyone about the massage market out here in San Diego, I would've believed that the area was saturated with therapists and there's not enough work and it's very difficult to get a massage business going as there are so many massage schools and therapists. As it is, I've had very good work here and recently opened an office that is doing quite well for just being open for a year. When I moved to AL from TN to open a practice, I was told that people there aren't really into massage and I probably wouldn't do as well as if I'd just stayed in Nashville. Wouldn't you know I did very well and had a good practice there for a few years.
If you have to ask, go ahead but don't let that make your reality as everyone's experience will be very different. Also, keep in mind that unfortunately many therapists can be threatened by a newcomer and may give you wrong information. You might want to visit the area or do a computer check of the demographics of the area. Are there neighborhoods that have a lot of gyms or health clinics? That may be a good neighborhood to work. Find out if the chiropractors are offering massage in their clinics or refer out to therapists, that's also a good sign that people there use massage. How many massage schools are there? If there's at least one or two, that also is a sign there would be work as a school wouldn't be open if no one was interested in massage. Contact the Chamber of Commerce, do they have any spas or massage therapists in their group they can recommend, if so-- another good sign. If people are using the services there, then you should be able to find work.
