Hi,
I hope I'm in the right place here - I'm still quite new to all this! I'm a mental health nurse, and would love to offer patients short reflexology sessions - there are so many patients I see with problems sleeping, digestive problems, stress induced problems, etc etc...as I'm sure you can imagine. I passionately believe that reflexology would help many of the people I see, and I think it would be possible to combine a shortened reflexology session with a normal nursing contact visit (50 mins)
Unfortunately the Trust I work for are just not interested. The feedback I have had from them is that I wouldn't be insured, and it's not what I'm employed for. Even with my own professional insurance, and combining the reflexology with a normal visit, they are not interested.
Like others, I'm finding it hard not to be demoralised by this - I'd love to be able to make reflexology accessible for people in crisis, to help strengthen their resiliance and balance them.
I find it so frustrating when I feel like I'm trying to offer something healthy and positive, and I end up feeling like a nuisance. Thanks for letting me let off steam []!!!
I wonder if anyone has any similar experiences, or even better any success stories to share!
