I've never had a lomi lomi massage, from my understanding it shows you a lot of techniques to use other than your hands, but I may be wrong. I would honestly do a search to see if there is any sites that might have a demo of the technique so that you can see for yourself. It might be something that you can incorporate into your existing massage. I really don't know how much of the general public would even know about the technique to request it. I honestly didn't even know it existed until I was seeing ads for it in the massage journals. As for hot stone, I am certified and took the seminar. It is something that is usually only requested during the colder months, if you are in a warmer climate I honestly wouldn't take the class since it wouldn't be benificial to you in the long run. I personally don't like doing them or recieving them, I prefer real hands on. It was nice, and I warmed up very quickly, but it is too much of a luxury to get it done. Plus I hate having to check temperatures, and letting go of my client etc constantly. I am glad I took the course because there have been requests for it and I would rather not turn away money so I do it. I honestly thought there would be more of a demand but they charge too much for it at the spa and she doesn't pay me any more than my regular wage to do it. But it really depends upon the demand in your area, I did it only to pad my resume, and I am not someone who is comfortable watching a video to learn the skill.
