Approaching Large companies

I have two local businesses that I am trying gain larger public image through - one a local hockey franchise and the other a local health center. I have not had much luck in approaching some other local businesses one of them being a local conference center (Youd think that would be one of the best....?)

Any ideas on how to make a better impact in that first initial contact?

May we ask how you are going about introducing yourself to the companies to get a better feel of what may be happening during the initial impact?

As a note of interest, I was looking at your icon with your business card, over on the left. Are you using this as your current business card that you present to companies? If so, you may want to reconsider the caps intermingled with the lower case letters in your name. At first glance, it has the appearance of a little too relaxed. Maybe this could be deterring call backs, if you are only providing your card and letterhead with info about yourself. Just a thought.

But, since I don't know quite what you are doing, it is hard to provide much discussion on it... at least from me.
