Are massage therapists supposed to imply they never see "it"?

My massage therapist is careful to cover the front or look away when I'm shifting positions but during my glutes to thigh and leg massage never covers the my butt. I know from laying in that position that the crotch is pretty much still explicitly visible...I can feel the air. Is it just customer courtesy to imply that they never "see it"? I'm not complaining, nothing was inappropriate, its just one of those things that make you wonder. Kinda like when doctors leave the room for us to undress when they have to examine the privates anyway.

If they are draping appropriately then they won't be seeing anything. I never see anyones privates even if I am doing glute work on them.

Just because you can feel air doesn't mean you're visibly exposed. For one thing, they're busy doing their job and not checking you out. Their job does not involve the genitals. And besides that, the gap letting in the draft is usually in a position where there is more drape on top of it that makes it inaccessible to the eyes. Your body does curve, remember, and the drape will follow those curves.

If the draft bothers you, request a diaper drape next time. This is a draping technique where the therapist takes the sheet and passes it totally underneath your leg. It's very secure and doesn't let in air the way other draping methods do. It's generally used if the therapist is going to perform passive stretches to the leg muscles because it stays in place so much better. But it involves lifting the client's leg totally off the table to drape and undrape, and this can be disruptive to the client's relaxation experience, so most therapists don't use it in their regular routine.
