Area around Sunset Mansion Hotel??

Heh ... I don't have a fortune. I am going to Phuket in May. I am staying at Sunset Mansion near Phra Baramee Road (according to the map at any rate ...) My question is does anybody know if Sunset Mansion has a bar as well? Can I get girls right at the hotel?! Also, are there any Massage Parlors within walking distance from Sunset mansion? If either of these are so, it will make my trip SO much easier!! Hope to hear from someone on this matter ...

I HAVE actually been to Phuket before while I was in the Marines Summer of 2000. My best experience was when me and some of my military buddies were at a CHEAP hotel (No air conditioning or anything ) There was a bar RIGHT downstairs with lovely ladies attending the customers. By this time I had already come to know just what was possible in Thailand (No one would tell me, they just let me find out for my self ... real nice surprise ... LOL) I had met a long black haired miss with glasses that just was too cute to resist. I emphasized that I wanted her to stay with me all night. I remember not paying too much and it being QUITE worth it (I won't go into details .. unless of course I get a post asking me to I would have had her stay and hang around with me for as long as she was willing, but my military buddies wanted to do other things :mad2: (Part of the reason I am going back is to do whatever I want within legal limits without anyone telling me they want to do something else

the sunset looks like its a bit far up the road from the action,so you would need to take a tuk tuk to bangla road,and back , where the action is centred,
which will add to your costs qiute a bit
it looks like the hotel doesn,t have a bar and its unlightly that there are any girls available there due to its position --why not stay closer to bangla road ?ther are millions of hotels there ,check out the C&N or the EXPAT
then you can simply walk to the action and seforum.xxxger back later, with a lady,without having to pay the tuk tuk mafia--
also the sunset may not be joiner friendly,so you will have to pay a fee to them each time you take back a lady friend !!

Thanx for your great input, but, alas ... my hotel has been booked for 6 nights from May 15 to May 21 since December!! Think maybe I should just carry 120$ U. S. and switch hotels when I get there? Would probably come to the same amount I have set aside for cabs anyway. I am a big walker though, so walking all the way to the Red Light District is no problem for me (that's what we did last time I was there) I'll probably stick to the girls at the bar and only go to the Massage Parlors once a day. You say Sunset Mansion might not be "Girl" friendly? I hope that is not the case. How much do you think they will charge? Gonna highlight Bangla Road on my map so I know exactly where to ZOOM to when I get there (probably as soon as I am done checking in with the hotel ) Thanx again!!

I've had a look into those rooms at Sunset Mansion a few years ago, small but clean rooms, only one problem, rooms have two tiny beds!!! Not one big sized bed as in most places! This might be a problem when you are taking a girl there for a "sleep over", when "the action" builds up you might very well end up on the floor, or sleeping in separate beds! What I can recall they didn't have anything downstairs but a simple reception-desk, think it's girlfriendly though! The place has a few years on it's neck now! I wouldn't recommend it, lots of better accommodations to find nearer to the action!
I'd recommend you to stay at the other end of town, opposite the Christin Massage, there are lots of new cheap and good places to stay, special inside Soi Lamai Inn. Not that far from either the beach, or the action (10-15 min walk to Soi Bangla). ThaiJanne

Thanx for the advice, unfortunately I have already booked my hotel in advance Can the beds be moved? I will move them together to make one bed!! (Don't think I woun't either ... ) Glad to here a thumbs up on the hotel being girl friendly though!! Thanx again!!

There are some bars in that area: Nicky's handlebar and No.8 bar to name a couple. Above no.8 bar there is a massage parlour.

hi again marvisdek, email them and ask about g/friendly or not, and ask about the bed arrangement too

have u paid in advance?if u have your stuck with it,but if not cancel and change to the other ones suggested
i stayed in a pre-booked hotel in patong,once -which had 2 single beds ,when i pulled the beds together ,the wall light stuck out between the two!!

Crazy as it sounds I think I am just going to book a hotel at Expat AND keep the one at Sunset I am getting Overtime to make up for some money I spent from the trip fund (shame on me ...) Yeah .. I remember there being a lttle stuff in that area, maybe it has changed? Most likely I am going to do the crazy thing and book both (Doesn't seem like I can get money back ...)
