Auricualr acupuncture

I have an interest in auricular acupuncture. Can anyone tell me how long it takes to train and roughly how much it would cost. I would also be keen to find out anything anyone could tell me about the success of the treatment and how often they use it in their complementary therapy clinic. Many thanks.

Hi Claire,

I'm a qualifed Auricular Acupuncturist who trained with TheBritish Collegeof Auricular Acupuncturists. [link=http://www.auricularacupuncture.org.uk]www.auricularacupuncture.org.uk[/link] The Society is probably the biggest and longest running Auricular Acupuncture organisation and the courses are fantastic.

There are other smaller organisations such as NADA or SMART who also teach what's known as The Five Point Protocol, a basic 5 point detox treatment administered within Drug & Alcohol projects, prisions etc. The NADA & SMART courses are as far as i'm aware only open to drug workers etc !!

Auricular Acupuncture can be administered using either needles or an electro~acupuncturscope. There are approximately 200 different points on the ear, each corresponding to a particular area or organ in the body (A micro-system, such as is found in Reflexology). The therapy is very effective and can be used to treat just about any condition. I tend to use it alongside Reflexology with about 90% of my clients having Reflexology whilst the needles are in place. I get great results !!

I would highly recommend both the therapy and the Society for training.

I have had the benefit of some of meridianmoon's treatments and they are fab!

the level 1 training with the association that meridianmoon has already mentioned is 4 days. I shall be undertaking the training for Level 1 in September.

well the course got postponed to October, and it was this week, and I have just completed the training and it was brilliant! Just waithing for my exam results.
