Wow! I loved this session. It was very interesting and well presented, I thought. The links between reflexology and Ayurveda are uncanny. There are 6 marma points on the hands, and 6 on the feet. We did some fascinating pairwork. Did anyone else go along? I slept like a babe last night!

She (Sharon Stathis) does her Ayurvedic Reflexology training as a two day course, and will be doing one next year at the Oxford School of Reflexology after the AoR conference (she is Australian so the UK isn't exactly just round the corner for her ). She's also doing one in Ireland next month, I believe.

I really really enjoyed this seminar, what a dynamic couple. The work on the feet was so invigorating and brisk, but felt fantastic. I've already used the closing technique, holding the toes with the fingers, and clients have felt something.

The dvd they showed with the goat was unreal wasn't it? I wouldn't have believe that if I hadn't seen it. I was a bit disappointed that they didn't have enough materials ie workbooks to buy on the Sunday. Are you going to use one of those kasa bowls in your treatments? I think that would be classified as an implement which we are not allowed to use (as per AOR). I would love to take the course, shame I don't have a couple£100's to spare, let aone a free weekend!!

Good point regarding using the kasa bowl. You are however using the smooth part of it on the client's feet so there is nothing pointy or sharp sticking in them, unlike those other methods where you use sticks. I also think the AoR staff who were present might have protested about the kasa bowl being used if they felt it was a problem. Sharon is teaching a course at the Oxford School of Reflexology next year, which is an AoR accredited school, so I am sure a certain set of criteria would have had to have been met for that to happen.

And those are my thoughts on the subject, for what they are worth
