back problems

Hi I have had to two lots of surgery for prolapsed discs. First was back in 2001 and recovered fine. 2nd was in December 2004 but disc herniated centrally causing damage to nerves and left me with a series of different problems ranging from numbness/drop foot and bowel problems. Most recent event is that I have been referred for "pelvic floor neurostimulation".
Does anyone know what this actually entails and has anyone experienced it?

The device that I think you are refering to involves placing an ergonomically designed electrode in the vagina that's connected to an electronic device that sends pulses to stimulate the muscles of the pelvic floor.

This really isn't as bad as it sounds and stimulating the nerve pathways from either end will help muscle tone and encourage nerve to muscle communication and possible nerve growth.

Do give it a whirl and maybe look at some of my other Posts regarding vertebral discs, as it sounds like you have a proness to disc injury. If you hit the HP search, then try spelling disk with a k, also.

I can thoroughly recommend Reiki healing for back pain. I have a client who was totally bed ridden with severe lower back problems before she started having reiki treatments from me 5 weeks ago, on a weekly basis. She has already improved by 15% (on her recKoning). She can stand upright in norla posture, and can even go shopping. Although still in some pain, she is now able to carry on with her normal life. She plans to continue having Reiki on a regular basis, to keep herself mobile. Perhaps you have a good Reiki practitioner near you who could help.

Thanks for the advice. I have Reiki I and II myself and do self healing daily. My friend also does Reiki and gives me treatment from time to time. I'm not so much in pain now since surgery it's more my mobility problems and the nerve damage that gets me down.
