I saw today "Bangla Muay Thai Boxing Stadium with real fights" was painted on the walls of ex. Shark Club/Star Club building.
 
Yeah I posted about this in one of the idle speculation threads I made a few days ago..

I know Tum fairly well who runs the existing Patong Muay Thai who was grumbling about this...
 
Isn't the new boxing place at Star Wars/Shark Club just more or less replacing the old one on Bangla next to Tiger, therefore merely maintaining the status quo? If so, then why should Tum be concerned?

If it is more bars next Tiger, then all the better for us punters. :D

Well the one next to tiger is what could be at best described as 'demonstration' boxing (and a snake show etc).. The same guys spar each other every night etc.. Dont get me wrong, I dont want to jump in the ring with them but its not sanctioned fights. Also this ring kind of got knocked down for the new building there and has moved back towards the seafood resurants.

Currently Phuket region has the Phuket town stadium and Patong (next to the Bowling on Sai Nam Yen) stadium that are licenced to hold accredited fights. Apparently any place can only have 2 nights a week and there cant be more than one place at the same night in any province..
