Agreed.. Also would point out that BG's do have a way of telling people what they want to hear.. You want to hear your handsom man out it comes.. You want to play the white knight rescueing the poor downtrodden diamond in the rought.. Then thats also what you hear..

I am not saying its a flat out fabrication but it seems to me a touch overstated..

I just loved the "instant diagnosis" , HEPATITIS !!!!!, and only 5 days to live .

I wish our hospital had this amazing ability. Then , after she stayed with him for 2 days , she goes to the hospital and is told she had only 3 days left to live. Looks like the author has an amazing medical talent , and also some healing powers , 3 days to live and she makes a "miracle" recovery.

Sorry folks , but at least this part of the story is pure fantasy , how can you tell someone has hepatitis purely by looking at them , where did the magical 5 days till she would be dead come from , and , from experience , doctors would never tell a patient they had 3 days left to live.

Nice read but I feel the author has "spiced" it up to make himself look like the "Good Samaritan" , helping out the poor downtrodden BG's.

I agree. A lot of things in the story just don't ring true. The phrase that did it for me was "After that singular act of kindness...." referring to something he did himself. Modest as well, eh?

Also, I'm 99% sure that I know the bar he describes in the UAE. Funnily enough, I drove past it just an hour ago. And some of it is true but a lot of it is ridiculously skewed to fit his version of how it is.

Having said that, nearly every single time I've walked past Nana Plaza in BKK I've spotted someone sitting in one of the bars outside, with a sensitive, thoughtful face, looking completely freaked out and depressed. It always occurs to me that these blokes are either men with messiah complexes, like this guy seems to have, or they're catholic priests who've come to put their faith and vows of celibacy to the test. No better place to do it!

Thanks for that link cotambear, a good read but as the other guys have said much of it is a figment of his imagination he should be an author of a fiction novel, for some reason painting himself out to be the solver of all Bg`s woes.
That said alot of these girls must be screwed up in their minds, every day going to work in the bars or agogos, drinking, dancing every night of the week for perhaps months on end. And always by and large looking gorgeous.
the same music etc You could do it for a while, but keep it up for months or years ? For that they have to be admired and respected. I guess the Baht helps too !

Ya, on rereading I think you guys are right. It does read as a self fulfilling wish-fantasy. And a trip to N Korea? Maybe he is James Bond?
