Is this Friday, Feb 18 a holiday...Bars closed???

Have a look at this thread Public Holidays and Bar Closures in Thailand.

It says it's Makha Bucha Day which celebrates the Buddha's first sermon to his disciples and is a bar closure day.

I'll have to "get on it" Thursday night upon arrival and then rest Friday night.
I wonder if the Sansabai burger stand will be open though?

Will be there when Visakha Bucha / Vesak Day falls on May 17. Baz can you elaborate on your above post, precautions and supplies (Drinks & BG/FL) requirements required to get through this Non bar opening day.

When do the Bars close on the day before )Midnight or normal early hours of holiday) and when they reopen (at Midnight on Holiday) ? You can see this is worrying me, a hiccup on my planning 555.

Ask Nicke about opening/closing times - more lenient in the Bangla precinct.
Liquor from a 7/11 should be available up to midnight (at least) the night before.
Book your BG/FL early for LT.
