battery implant question...

a client of mine has 2 battery implants on her posterior R shoulder, and posterior L hip; she says she's had them massaged over many times, but does anyone have any advice on the matter? They create nerve impulses for her.

Also, she has many deep scars from surgeries, and they're tender to her, but she still, all around, likes deep pressure. in general, she needs all-over bodywork, and I'd like to know if there are any modalities anyone can recommend? Thanks for your input, everyone. I really appreciate it!

i've had a couple of client's with "bionic" parts.

i'd want to know if there are subcuteneous wiring coming from the unit and where they're located. if the device is neurological, i'd want to know at which nerve roots are connected to the device if any. avoid direct strong pressure immediately over the unit and/or wiring.

as for modalities, i'm not sure i have enough info about what the client wants or what her goals are. i'm a big fan of the blended massage~ one that is relaxing and soothing, yet affords deep work or a specific modality to affected areas.

The client just wishes for "a lot of deep pressure work" and I've talked with her past therapist, who says she's done plenty of deep work in the past. it's moreso just palliative care, and she's got a problem where her tissues are... "disintegrating" (at a slow rate) inside of her, and her nerves began to quit. Her muscles hurt constantly, and the pain seems a lot, when I work on her, like the pain from fibromyalgia- but it's been ruled out by the doctor, and the chiropractor.
