Not sure if I should share this, but here it goes.
I ran into an hold friend of mine. A close friend from Kinder garten. It had been over 10 years without any contact. As it turns out, he had successfully completed his school, undergraduate studies and a good job, got married and had kids. Sadly, both his kids have Autism. I say sadly because no one would want to have it. It is unfortunate that it happens.
It is sad as my friend looks way over his age. He told me, Life is not easy. He was thankful that he came to Canada as there is help here for his children. However, no parent would ever want to go through this. He is strong but you could see it in his eyes. His wife is depressed and is going through a rough patch, he himself has gone through some serious medical problems that have come too early for his age. And and top of it, he is worried about the future of his kids. Also, who will take care of his wife in the event something happens to him? Who will take care of his kids? His kids have the bad side of Autism, he tells me. He told me how they will probably need care for the rest of their lives. Diaper changing, feeding, bathing etc.
I don't want to bring this post too long and boring, but the point of it is that it touched me. I would never want anyone to go through any like this or similar.
Point is, be thankful for what you have. Be thankful for everything you have. If you have two legs, two arms, a working brain, be thankful.
We all get upset or think life is the worst when a small mishap comes our way. We should be thankful to our God for everything we have.
I got chills after hearing his life story. He was very successful through school, university, work and married a gorgeous wife. He showed me pictures. Then everything started going down hill. Our first time meeting in over 10 years was a good 2 hour meeting.
