beginning massage therapy school..concerned about finding a job..?

Why this career? because I love the entire concept. I'm passionate about it and have always wanted to go into this career.

What money do I expect? I'm not out to make a LOT of money..my home is paid off..

My concerns..I do want to work immediately upon graduation in the field for which I'm trained..and I'm wondering how hard it is to acually get a job..I don't desire to build my own business..I want to get a job at a facility of some kind..I'm unemployed..went from a part time job at a vet clinic as a teen to homeschooling 4 sons for 16 years..never been out there in the workforce really and can't seem to get a job because i have no experience.. I dont need much money, but I need to get HIRED..

Is it going to be hard to find a job?
Should I aim at a field with better hiring odds, and relegate massage to later?

If you want to get hired, massage probably isn't the right field for you. You will only make $15-25 an hour, and you can only work about 20 hours a week. Most employers don't treat massage practitioners very well, you have to do a lot of unpaid work, and you'll get no employee benefits like health insurance or paid time off. Plus the burnout rate is extremely high because of the low pay and physical pain that it causes.
