Belton, Tx (FOX 44) – The massage therapist and instructor licenses of a man already facing sex assault charges have been suspended.
The Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) has suspended the massage therapist and massage instructor licenses of Demarr Thomas and the agency says he may not work in Texas as a massage therapist or as a massage instructor until the resolution of criminal cases against him have been disposed of, or until a court orders that his licenses be restored.
The TDLR reported Thomas has three pending criminal cases pending in Bell County, including a felony sexual assault case and two misdemeanor indecent assault cases. All three incidents were alleged to have occurred while he was performing massages on clients.

“TDLR takes allegations of sexual misconduct extremely seriously and there is no place in this profession for those who abuse their position of trust. Protecting the public is our foremost responsibility and we will pursue every possible action under the law to hold licensees accountable,” said TDLR Executive Director Courtney Arbour.
PREVIOUS STORY: Belton business owner charged with Indecent Assault
Thomas was arrested on indecent assault charges in July 2024. Belton police said he was the owner of The Retreat Therapeutic Massage, located at 2150 N Main Street. The incident is alleged to have occurred in late June 2024, while he was giving a massage at his business. This would have been the third possible victim to come forward with a complaint against him.
Thomas was previously arrested after being accused of sexual assault at the same business in September 2022. That arrest came following an investigation into a complaint made to Belton police by a 28-year-old woman who said she was assaulted August 8, 2022. Once the that incident was reported, a second victim came forward and a warrant was issued for Indecent Assault.
