Bells Palsy

I may have a client coming to me for reflexology to help with her Bells Palsy - she has apparently heard that it can be beneficial.

Has anyone had any experience of working with this problem?

Hi Aromababe,

i haven't had experience of treating anyone with Bells Palsy, but I have know 2 people to have it. ! was fairly mild and it went in a matter on months and the other person who had it has a very bad case, which lasted many months. She has moved away from me but last time I heard she was considering an operation to correct her mouth. Although it had corrected itself abit it was still not 'normal'! I know that in their cases it was down to stress and worry.

Hi, How did you get on with your client? I have treated 2 people with this by giving them IHM. After 5 sessions their faces have been normal again which is amazing. Try this if the reflexology doesn't work.

My hubby has Bells Palsy and has really benefited by refelxology treatments.
I am still practising (exam June 7th) so he has been a frequent guinea pig and gets far more treatments than is probably good for him.

His face is visibly less drooped when I have finished, and stays like it for a few days unless he gets stressed at work.
Interestingly I also did reiki on him during one treatment - forgot to protect myself (as it was 'only' him) and ended the treatment with a drooped face which felt numb for ages - I had to do all cleansing stuff from Reiki to get rid of it!
Now I don't go near him unless I am fully protected with white light!

I know this thread is quite old but thought I add to it rather than start a new one.

I have a possible client coming to me for pregnancy related issues but she also has also developed Bells Palsy.

Are the points I should cover the head, brain and cervical vertebrae? Are there are other points I should definately concentrate on?

Grumbleweed, if you are still around and reading this, would you be able to let me know if you used any particular techniques or focussed on any particular points on your hubby?

Work on the front of the large toes srtaight across, where the 'Trigeminal' nerve is. This is the three pronged nerve that lies to the side of the face along the cheek which is affected in Bells Palsy.

I havn't treated anyone personally with this condition, but I nearly rented a treatment room from a man who had suffered from it and had a course of reflexolgy treatments and thought that it had really helped him. s a result, he was very pro-reflexology
