Hi all

I've had an enquiry from someone who has had Bell's Palsy for 4 years wondering if Reflexology can help with her condition.

Has anyone any experience of working with a client with this condition?

Hi Setana,

Bell's palsy is caused by damage to nerves on the face. The vitamins B6 and B12 are essential for nerve growth. A friend of mine had the condition and took large doses of B6 and 12 and it cleared up very very quickly. But, don't go to the health food store, go to a pharmasist (sp?) and get the stongest available. Google for B6 and B12 toxicity to put your mind at rest.

I have seen it working. It works, and reflexology will certainly help the process.

I have worked with Bells Palsy patients, but not using reflexology - it was MLD (manual lymph drainage). 4 years is a long time - has she tried anything else?

My partner had Bells Palsy about 2 months ago. I used flower essences to help with the nerve damage, and also an essence I made to help with the nerve pain he was getting.

He also visited an energy healer.

I've had two clients with Bells palsy and on both occaissons I've massaged the side of the face (above the eye down to the chin, behind the ear) and the 7th cranial nerve (located just below the cheek bone). This soothed and alleviated the pain and discomfort. I also gave them both home work to self massage the area for approx 20 minutes twice a day which helped.
