Best bars in Nai Harn?

So I am staying at near Rawai Gym next month.

Can anyone recommend some of the best bars to go to as I have no idea, and how far they are from the place I am staying.

How busy do they get around March/April time and what time do people typically go out?
I don't think I'll be staying out very late too often and probably just going out for a few casual beers and get a BG back. I'll be there for training and fitness mainly.

I heard about 2 big clubs there, forget the names now but heard they can be pretty rough and a lot of muggings, any insight on this?

Would love to hear other recommendations or advice on the Nai Harn nightlife or Rawai in general.

I'll be travelling alone too if that makes any difference.

The clubs youre talking about are Icon and Laguna,not really much need to go there unless youre a thrill seeker,they are well known for shootings and stabbings,mainly Thais though.

Cheers bar in NH is good,there are more bars along the road its on heading towards Rawai that would be worth checking out too.

have a bit of an explore and see for yourself which ones suit you...there are 3 main sections with groupings of a several bars each which string along the main road of Nai Harn....the kata end as you come in...the middle centre of the road out to Rawai/Chalong and then the Rawai end....plenty of choice but not a lot of differentiation IMO

Icon and Laguna are very Thai orientated and Thai males + alcohol is not a good mix

Nai Harn & Rawai be OK, but you have to be lucky with bar cos not always busy, good night 1 night, not good the next !!! Different to Patong, but lot more relaxed.
Only do the 2 clubs, maybe 1 time every 6 months, but everyone to there own - I prefer down south to Patong

How long would a journey to Patong take or the next closest place from Rawai for a good time at weekends?

Around 25mins by tuktuk into Patong. Kata or Karon maybe 10mins.

Seeing as you are from the UK, Freedom bar across the street from Rawai beach will make a good starting point. Lots of Muay Thai punters there as well. The bars in front of Laguna night club also is worth looking into.

Sorry for the bump.

Suprised by that comment tbh, i spent/ended nearly every night of my last trip in either Icon or Laguna and never really felt uncomfortable or unsafe, everyone felt friendly and only saw one bit of trouble and that was between some TGs chucking glass bottles at each other.

There are occasional scraps, particularly at Icon where there has been reported shootings ( Thai on Thai) and the odd bar brawls. At Laguna I've only seen the standard bar brawl, but haven't heard of any shootings. Once fatal stabbing occurred from an incident at Freedom Bar. Rawai gets a lot of Muay Thai training fighters that get drunk and ingest other things then feel they an invincible.

Anyone know why some of the girls prefer to only go to one of the clubs when they close the bars, and don't want to go to the other at all. Slight rivalry between certain bars?

if you want to go there the names are icon and Laguna which are the best in this area may you visited there through can you take every new thing of your interest.

ok, so we were at Laguna last night, really not bad. outside is the Manhattan Bar, really nice girls around, beer was 80 bht. at 2 am the nightclub opened, not really huge but quite full after a while. beer was only 40 bht there. overall we had a really good time and no signs that it would be a thai only crowd or in any aspect dangerous

The deal is, everyone goes to Laguna at 2 until about 4 to enjoy the cheap drinks, then most people head off to Icon which is much bigger.

ok, will keep that in mind. but i think we left at 4:30 - 5 am from Laguna and went home for we had enough entertainment for that night
