Mk, so I do have 3 birds, 1 lovebird and 2 canarys.
I've had them for a couple of years now, and they seem quite content, and my lovebird is close to me.
When I introduced all my birds so far to their cages, they were always just a cage, with a sheet of paper towel at the bottom and a single perch. I always added on new toys.
But I got thinking, would a new lovebird Im planning to buy feel overwhelmed if I put all the toys in it's cage before I introduced the cage, and then introduced it to the cage with the toys all in it? Or is it more uncomfortable for them when I just randomly add new toys?
Any tips for making the new lovebird feel more comfortable when I introduce it to it's cage, and begin to train it the basics? ( Step up, etc )
I mean, when I first had my lovebird and 2 canarys, I wasn't sure of what I was doing. I just kinda .. put the little cardboard box they came in into the cage, they flew into the cage, and I took the box out on the cage and kinda just left them to get adjusted, and eventually began to handle them.
Is their any way I could improve my method with this new lovebird, to make it feel more comfortable for the bird, and maybe speed up training and bonding?
