This my fellow hobbyist is an ongoing conversation I have had between my big head ("one with brain?" ) and my carefree wanderlust little brother.
PURPOSE...... just another re-calibration, reset of the mind and recharging of the battery.

Recently I wiped my phone clean messages and oh yes .....all affiliated phone numbers. Big head was not in the game but Little brother was not happy .
Had to explain to little brother that he was not playing with the same vigor.....needed to take a break, seek out new playmates.

This strategy has worked for me in the past. Always with some regrets initially but quickly forgotten with the next sniff, lick, suck, and of course massage

Sometimes I get tired and bored of reading scripted retreaded reviews, tired old repetitive ads, promoters bickering among themselves, promoting the shit out of a spa, man propping each other etc, etc
Wanted to try something different ........at least I get to share my thoughts

When I first started in this hobby, I never repeated, always tried new places and new girls. Part of the thrill was walking in never knowing what to expect. Sometimes you leave disappointed, but sometime leave mind blown. COVID hit and found the need to gather as many contacts as possible in case of shut downs. That worked wonder, but the last while, have not been as interested, maybe it was the knowing what to expect.
So about a month ago, wiped my phone clean, and started fresh, visiting spots I don’t normally go, or haven’t been in a while and seeing new girls. It’s been refreshing.

Had the urge to retrieve also, but realized if I wanted to see them, I know where and when they work, I could just show up.
Started going back to places I used to frequent in the past, mostly new talent there so it’s all new. Starting to try some new places hoping to find a gem or 2

As long as we go with an OPEN mind, finding new talent is what it is all about. Yes, there will be disappointments but at the minimum there is a 50/50 chance of finding a keeper - at least worth a repeat or more.

As for this place, yes, it is getting stale. It seems that everyone is in their own ECHO chamber, rehashing the same thing again and again. It will be interesting to see how many customers these spas that advertised and being promoted here get.

I am sure those spas in Spa Central (EBC, Major Mac, etc) in the east are getting the majority of their customers from other sources, hence the concentration of Spas in that area.

I am also told that during the Corvid shutdown, quite a few MPA had gone indie and not coming back. One estimate I heard from a very reliable source that within that same area, if you include all the Spas and Indies, there are at least 500 MPA's.

That is a nice round number =500 to work with. Could keep me busy for a while

I wonder if that number includes the part-timers, "one and done", and the MPAs who moonlight from spa to spa using aliases.

Problem is the stars and superstars are much fewer and some are unfortunately "lifers" or close to expiry date (retirement=look after grand kids)

Promoters/ influencers don't have a lot of new talent to work with so there is a reliance on promoting by shuffling the deck, promoting the shit out of budding stars, or just using the same old playbook.

My source as I mentioned a few times here is the Go To place for any and all Massage Supplies. i.e. Beds etc. She is very well known in the GTA having been in this business for over 20 years. Because she has the ability to converse in Mandarin, etc all these Spa owners, MPA's are very comfortable dealing with her. They will not go to the mainstream Massage Equipment suppliers.

I can say with almost 99% certainty that almost every massage bed in the GTA had at one time or another comes from her place.

Obviously I cannot ask her for information as she does not know that I hobby this much if at all.

That number - as far as I know are active MPA. Not those that have retired. Whenever I am there, I do see some customers come in. Fortunately most of them are owners, who I do not know at all. Unlike 15 years ago, I had recommended some owners to go there for beds etc.
