Birth Control Pill newbie. Help!?

So I've been having sex with my boyfriend for about two years now (protected) and a few unprotected (happened spontaneously - plan B was use) and we both agreed on me going on the BCP. I'm 19 and I've made an appointment with my doctor about it next week. I have no in depth knowledge about it and would likee those experienced in this to help me out ! ( I cant really wait till my appointment )

When do I take the pill ( i know i take it before i have sex) ; do i take it the moment we are going to have intercourse or a day before?
Also ..when do i stop taking it :

Hypothetically speaking: if i got in an arguemnt with my bf and we werent speaking with each other and thus no sex , when may i stop taking the pill.

For further varification. After sex when can i stop taking the pill ( if i plan on not having sex in a while )

you have to take it everyday weather you have sex or not. always around the same time.

You take it every day at the same time. I take mine at 10:00 pm every day with an alarm on my phone. Do not miss, do not stop taking it, even if you aren't having sex for awhile.

I've been on the pill for 5 years. As long as you take the pill at the same time every day, you will be fine. You can have sex at any time you want.

If you want to stop, you can, but you won't be able to have worry-free sex within two days.

Also, you will have to wait a month for the pills to fully kick in, so keep using protection.

Please follow the directions, you seem a little confused as to how this works, but the doctor will tell you exactly how to use it too.

The pill should be taken daily around the same time. It doesn't have to be before sex or anything like that. You should set an alarm on your phone to remind you to take it. You should NOT stop taking the pill unless you have discussed it with your doctor. You need to continue to take the pill because it does regulate your menstrual cycle. If you stopped taking it out of no where you'll get your period and be unprotected from getting pregnant. You need to be mindful that taking the pill daily with perfect use is your best bet at not getting pregnant. If you miss a pill or take it infrequently it increases your chances.

You need to also ask your doctor how soon you can start having sex without a condom when you're on birth control. I know for certain kinds if you take it within the first few days of your period you are instantly protected, while there are others you may need to wait a week or few weeks before you can go without a condom.
